Remove the Tube Assembly (No. 1 Bearing Scavenge). To remove this
tube assembly, you disconnect the tube nut (2) from the elbow (3) at
the inlet housing (4) and remove the flared conical seal (5). At
the other end of the tube assembly, disconnect the tube nut (6) from
the nipple (7) at the engine oil pump (8), lift out the tube
assembly (1), and remove the flared conical seal (9) (fig. 1-28).
Tube Assembly (No. 1 Bearing Scavenge).
Remove the Tube Assemblies (Oil Tank to Engine Oil Pump Assembly).
Remove the tubes (1 and 2) by removing the two screws (3), moving
the tube assembly (1) away from the gearbox (4) and removing the
packing (5). Next unscrew the coupling (6) on the tube (2) from the
assemblies, and remove the two packings (9) (fig. 1-29). Place the
tube (1 and 2) on a clean, flat surface and disconnect the tubes (1
and 2) from each other. Remove the two packings (10).
Remove the Tube Assemblies (Forward Reduction Gearbox Scavenge).
You must pull the coupling (1) back fully to expose the second
preformed packing (3) (fig. 1-30).
