Slack Adjusters. There are four slack adjusters located on the
forklift (figure 13). Brake adjustment is accomplished automatically
by the slack adjusters located in the hydraulic lines between the
applicator valve and each of the wheel brake assemblies. Since slack
adjusters have been incorporated into the system, there is no need
for manual brake adjustments.
The steering system is fully-hydraulic with a
mechanical follow up.
Pressure is supplied by two hydraulic pumps
mounted on the front and rear of the torque converter housing.
Normal operating pressure is 2000 psi.
The main hydraulic oil
supply tank provides the source of oil for the steering system. The
forklift machine has a two or a four-wheel steering capability,
with either a CRAB or CRAMP mode in the four-wheel steer.
