Removal Of the Gun Elevation Drive Motor.

Step 7.
With helper assistance, remove four lockscrews and washers attaching
the motor to the gearbox.
Then remove the motor from the gearbox.
Discard the
lockscrews.

Removal of the Gun Elevation Drive Gearbox.
Step 1.
Remove the flexible shaft from the adapter, which is located on the
handwheel.
Step 2.
Remove plug 2W302P5 from jack 2A202J3 (located under the handwheel) and
remove plug 2W302P4 from jack 2A202J2 (located on the lower gearbox).
Tag the
plugs.
Step 3.
Remove the screw, two lockwashers, and ground strap from the gearbox
housing.
Discard the lockwashers.
Step 4.
Remove the cotter pin, pin, washer, and rod end clevis from the control
lever, located on the traverse drive brake.  Discard the cotter pin.
WARNING
The 25mm gun rotor could spring up and cause injury.  Fully
elevate the 25mm gun to mechanical stop, and move the gun
elevation  drive  select  lever  to  manual  position  before
disengaging the gears.
Step 5.
Loosen preload nut on the front support pin eyebolt until it is flush
with the end of the eyebolt.
WARNING
The gearbox can fall and injure soldiers.
Support the
gearbox before removing the screws.
NOTE
The  rear  support  pin  has  top  and  bottom  holes  for
installing the support pin, and left and right threaded
holes for removing the support pin.
