Preparing the STE for Operation
a.
General.
Before the STE can be used effectively, it must be inspected and
hooked up to the vehicle.
A self-test must then be performed to ensure that the
STE is working properly.
For the self-test to succeed, the test set must be
operated  in  a  temperature  environment  between  +20ƒ  and  +125ƒ  Fahrenheit.
An
internal temperature sensing device stops the operation of the test set outside
these temperature limits.
Any component that cannot be repaired by straightening
bent pins, or by cleaning, should be turned in for replacement.
