M2/M3 BRADLEY FIGHTING VEHICLE: TURRET - OD1609 LESSON 3/TASK 3
During the test procedure, the STE set communicator
(SETCOM) may display instructions referring to one of
several indexes. The contents of these indexes will not be
reproduced in this subcourse.
Instead, reference will be
made to the technical manual in which the index can be
found, when needed.
During the test procedure, several pathways develop,
depending on the results obtained for individual tests
Not all pathways will be covered in this
subcourse. One typical pathway will be used as an example.
When actually performing the test on the vehicle, be sure
to have the TM 9-2350-252-20-2-1 on hand and respond to the
actual test results observed during testing.
Preparing for Test 2700. Before beginning to run test 2700 on the 25mm and
7.62mm guns, make sure that the STE-M1/FVS is hooked up to the DTP/DCA, the engine
is stopped, the turret is shut down, and the weapons are unloaded and safe. Then
perform these initial steps:
Perform message word 044 (TM 9-2350-252-20-2-1, page 3-585) and move the
AP switch to the AP position.
Perform message word 045 (TM 9-2350-252-20-2-1, page 3-686) and move the
HE switch to the HE position.
ABS and HBS switches must be moved without rotating the
turret later in this task. Note position of switches while
rotating turret to 6400 mils.
Hook up the STE-M1/FVS teat set to the vehicle distribution box.
