M2/M3 BFV: FIRE CONTROL SYSTEM - OD1608 - LESSON 2/PE 2
PRACTICAL EXERCISE 2
1.
Instructions
Read the scenario and respond to the requirements that follow the
scenario.
2.
Scenario
Twenty lieutenant colonels from the  Pentagon have been tasked to
conduct a study to determine the economic effectiveness of the use of
the STE-M1/FVS simplified test equipment at the intermediate direct
support  and  unit  maintenance  levels.
Some  or  all  of  them  have
announced by TWX their arrival for a fact finding mission to include
a demonstration of the equipment.
Although their communication was
received on post almost two weeks ago, you have been given a bare
three hours to prepare for their visit.
In order to be sure the
lieutenant colonels get it straight, you plan to let them choose from
any of your shop mechanics for the demonstrator, but you will do all
of the talking.
3.
First Requirement
Answer these questions about facts to be included in your discussion.
a.
Name the two places on the Bradley fighting vehicle where the
simplified test equipment (STE) can be hooked up.
b.
Briefly describe why the STE self-test is performed.
c.
What  should  be  done  during  testing  if  the
set
communicator
displays a fault message or a message word number?
