STEERING SYSTEM - OD1605 - LESSON 1/TASK 1
Step 6.
If the display reads correctly, perform the VTM confidence
check using the instructions on the flip cards on the VTM.
If the
VTM  confidence  check  does  not  pass,  the  VTM  confidence  test
diagnostic troubleshooting procedures can be found, when needed, on
page 3-910 of TM 9-2350-252-20-1-1.
These procedures will not be
covered in this subcourse.
Step 7.
Once the VTM has passed its confidence test,
dial TEST
SELECT to 60 and press and release the TEST button.
If
the VEH ID
(vehicle identification) does not appear on the display,
it will be
necessary  to  troubleshoot  the  VTM  for  this  symptom.
When  this
occurs,  the  procedures  for  troubleshooting  the  VTM
for  this
malfunction can be found in TM 9-4910-751-14-1.
These
procedures
will not be covered in this subcourse.
Step 8.
Dial TEST SELECT to 16 and press and release the TEST
button.
Then dial the TEST SELECT to 61 and press and release the
TEST button.
If 16 does not appear on the VTM display, the VTM is
faulty.  Troubleshooting procedures for this condition can be found,
when needed, in TM 9-4910-751-14-1.  They will not be covered in this
subcourse.
Step 9.
Dial TEST SELECT to 62, then press and release the TEST
button.  If DCA3 does not appear on the VTM display, troubleshoot the
VTM for this malfunction using the procedures in TM 9-4910-751-14-1.
Step 10.
If all the tests on the VTM deliver the proper display,
return to the troubleshooting task being performed.
