CHECKING FOR VEHICLE MOVEMENT.
Step 12.  Because this action did not cause the engine to stall, SGT
Fields depresses the accelerator pedal (2) until the VTM display (3)
reads 1500 rpm and checks to see if the vehicle will move with the
steering yoke (4) centered (see figure 7).
Step 13.  The vehicle did not move while performing the test in Step
12, so he now executes a pivot steer on the vehicle through 90
degrees and then back to the original position.
NOTE
Pivot  steer  should  be  done  on
hard,  level
surface.
Tracks  and  area  must
be  free  of
obstacles.
Step 14.  The vehicle did not complete the pivot steer test and does
not move forward or backward.  These symptoms require another test to
be performed on the vehicle.  This time the test is STE-M1/FVS (VTM
only), TEST NO. 10 ENGINE RPM (GOV. SPEED), which was described in
paragraph 3e on page 9.
Step 15.  Test NO. 10 passes, so SGT Fields moves the gear selector
to DRIVE and depresses the accelerator pedal until the engine speed
reaches
