General Characteristics
a.
Vehicle Purpose and Description.
The BFV comes in two versions:  the
M2 infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) and the M3 cavalry fighting vehicle
(CFV).
The IFV and the CFV, with long-range mobility and fire power, are
for  land  combat.
They  are  also  designed  for  high  first-round-kill
probability and provide the crew with light armor protection.  Troops can be
carried cross country while using the turret and firing port weapons for
attack.

Equipment Data
In the subparagraphs below, the general characteristics of the BFV will be
discussed.
a.
General.
The M2/M3 BFV is 8.9 feet high and has an empty weight of
41,600 pounds.
When it is fully combat-loaded, with fuel, crew, and on-
vehicle equipment (OVE), the vehicle weighs 49,138 pounds.  By subtracting
