Maintenance.
The maintenance allocation chart (MAC)(see figure 1-5) specifies the
maintenance requirements for the LR Test Set.
The requirements for
the operator/crew (column 4-C) are limited to inspection of the unit
as set forth in the preventive maintenance checks and services (PMCS)
table  (see  figure  1-6).
The  operator  does  not  perform  any
troubleshooting procedures.
To ensure that the LR Test Set is ready for operation, you must
systematically inspect it.
Conduct the PMCS at the time intervals
and sequence indicated on the PMCS table.  Perform routine checks and
services such as inspecting for external damage, dirt, or corrosion;
checking the function of controls and the tightening of knobs; and
checking for completeness prior to using the PMCS table.  Record all
faults and corrective action on DA Form 2404.
Observe the following guidelines whenever performing PMCS:

Before you operate - Always keep in mind the CAUTIONS and
WARNINGS.  Perform your Before (B) PMCS.

While you operate - Always keep in mind the CAUTIONS and
WARNINGS.  Perform your During (D) PMCS.

After you operate - Be sure to perform your After (A) PMCS.
