TROUBLESHOOTING THE HMMWV - OD1616 - LESSON 2/PE 2
PRACTICAL EXERCISE - ANSWERS
The STE/ICE consists of the following components:
o vehicle test meter (VTM)
o transducer kit (TK)
o four electrical cables
o transit case
o technical publications
The VTM operates on either 12 Volt or 24 Volt battery power or
an equivalent power source.
Test number 60 is used to enter the vehicle identification (VID)
number into the VTM. This VID remains in the VTM until test number
60 is repeated, or the power is turned off.
Test number 60 will
accept VID numbers 01 through 28. If the VTM has been programmed to
recognize a particular VID, then the number of cylinders will be
automatically entered during test number 60.
The offset value should be between -225 to +225.
The message CAL signals the mechanic to release the TEST button
during an offset test.
