(a) Remove the lock wire from the safety pin and discard the
lock wire.
(b) Remove the safety pin from the pilot valve.
(c) Remove the antirecoil plug from the fire bottle valve.
(d) Stow the antirecoil plug in the bracket.
(5) Install the vehicle ground cable.
(6) Unstow the squad seat number 4 (M2 only).
(7) Move the FIRE SUPPRESSION switch to the AUTO position.

Replacing a Flame Sensor
One of the components that might require replacement is the flame
sensor.
All four flame sensors are replaced in basically the same
way.
WARNING
Electrical current can cause burns.
Remove the
vehicle ground cable before starting the removal
procedure.
a. Removing the Flame Sensor.  In preparation for removing one of
the flame sensors, stow the squad seat number 4 (M2 only) and remove
the vehicle ground cable.  If the turret sensor is being removed, the
turret must be manually traversed to 3500 mils.
Then remove the
flame sensor by following this procedure:
(1) Remove  the  designated  plug  (figure  12  on  the  following
page) from the sensor that is being replaced, and tag the plug.  The
sensor plugs are designated for removal as follows:
(a) Plug 1W11P4 to be removed from sensor 1MT1 on the left
hull behind the driver.
(b) Plug 1W11P5 to be removed from sensor 1MT2 on the right
hull behind the driver.
(c) Plug 1W11P6 to be removed from sensor 1MT3 on the turret.
