Compression Stroke
Continued cranking now causes the piston to be moved upward. The fuel-air mixture is forced into a smaller
space or is compressed, as the piston gets closer to the cylinder head, because both valves are closed. This
builds up pressure inside the combustion chamber to make the fuel-air mixture more explosive.
